abUSed: The Postville Raid

I went to see the experience event which was called abUSed: The Postville Raid. It talked about how immigrants from Guatemala and Mexico are trying to find jobs when they go to Iowa. Most people that this documentary interviewed were under the age of 18, and they talked about how they worked over 12 hours which is legal for people under that age. They also talked about how it hurt the kids both physically and mentally because it put a hardship on their life. They worked all the time to be in pain at the end of the night. The people who paid these kids also paid them for less hours then they had worked.
Most of these immigrants in this documentary were caught and sent back to their home country, but under one condition. Most of them were put in jail and after that they had to wear a GPS tracker on their ankle which they had to charge two hours a day. This made it a little difficult for the people to live out their lives.
Immigrants are treated very poorly, but in my opinion they shouldn't just come here illegally to find work. I understand that they need it, but they should have to go through the same steps as the original immigrants who first came to the United States. They should become a US citizen and I know that takes a long time, but it is also unfair to take away jobs that US citizens need.
Many people don't get a full understanding of immigrants and I feel like this Experience Event is the perfect thing people need if they don't. Immigrants go through harsh times just to help out with their families. From watching this it has given me a different perspective on the immigrant situation.
