Final Exam Workshop
In the days counting down the semester, I attended a Final exam workshop. Hosted by the Academic Learning Center with Erin Evans and professors Dr. Fallaballa, Dr. Campbell, and Professor Gaffney. Each professor gave vivid points on what to do and not do for finals. A lot of their information was not to cram the night before a final, reading the test all the way through, and having patience and make sure you understand the questions. Some of the tips they gave were have study groups because most times everyone has similar questions and you will cover most of the material that way. Also having a positive attitude toward taking the test and achieving a good grade. Since each professor came from a different field they each had insight to give from the particular specialty as well as just personal experience. I have become a little more informed about the pros and cons of studying so that I do not get trapped in the hole of not being effective and just wasting studying hours. I highly recommend the workshop for the future because especially for freshman that are new to the college finals process.
